Charley Varrick on DVD

A very good article by Edouard Waintrop on the ecran.fr pwebsite to mark the DVD release of <i>Kill Charley Varrick</i> (Don Siegel, 1973), which will be shown at the Lumière 2009 festival.

"Kill Charley Varrick is Don Siegel in cracking form, with a thriller that takes off at 100 mph after deceptively quiet credits. Varrick, his wife and their friends plot a minor robbery in the small town of Tres Cruces (New Mexico), hoping for a haul of around $10,000.  But things go wrong and two passing cops intervene and are bumped off.  Varrick's wife is killed as well, along with one of her accomplices."
