Eddie Muller and the art of noir
The selection put together by Eddie Muller and Philippe Garnier includes rare films made by great noir directors such as Losey and Siodmak and some by little-known auteurs that have not been available.
Muller founded the Film Noir Foundation and has written extensively about noir. He has built the Foundation into a world-class institution, embracing respected screenwriters such as Dennis Lehane and James Ellroy. Garnier, an expert on American films and rock music, used to be with the French daily Libération, now works as a translator and has written seven books, some of them about unusual aspects of cinema.
