Tarzan’s second Jane dies

Actress Brenda Joyce, who played Tarzan’s girlfriend Jane opposite Johnny Weissmuller several times from 1945, and then Lex Barker in 1949, has died, aged 92.
 
Born Betty Leabo, she appeared in 26 films and was best known as the second Jane in the Tarzan series (after Maureen O’Sullivan quit the role in 1945), starting with Tarzan and the Amazons.  She made three more Tarzan films with Weissmuller and a fourth with Barker called Tarzan’s Magic Fountain,  which was the last film of her career.
