Farrah Fawcett, Sunset Boulevard

Farrah Fawcett illustrated one of the film industry’s contradictions – someone who became a huge popular star, even an icon, but whose talent was unexceptional.

She made people dream and kept on doing so.  For many she was a classic sexual fantasy of the 1970s but also a feminine ideal.  How many posters of her, including the famous one of her in a red bathing suit, were sold over the past 30 years ?  Almost as many as the ones of “Che,” Bob Marley and Marilyn Monroe.
