Burton & Depp : Malice in Wonderland ?

 
The first pictures of the latest partnership of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, in their version of Lewis Carroll’s masterpiece, Alice in Wonderland, have just been released.

Will it become a classic?  Will it be as big as Victor Fleming’s 1939 version of The Wizard of Oz, starring Judy Garland?  Already it’s one of the most anticipated films of next year (out 5 March in the US).  It’s a mystery why Depp and Burton, after their success with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, didn’t tackle earlier Carroll’s story, which he wrote in 1865.
