Lumière 2009 pays tribute to La Dolce Vita

Federico Fellini’s landmark film was released 50 years ago next year.  The Festival will celebrate the event.

To mark the film’s half-century, the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé and publishers Editions Xavier Barral are bringing out a 320-page book called “La Dolce Vita, l’album,” with more than 1,000 photos (most of them unpublished) accompanied by a DVD of the film.

The book has been put together by Sam Stourdzé, organiser of the exhibition Fellini, La Grande Parade which opens in October 2009 at the Jeu de Paume museum in Paris.  The launch-party for the book will be on Thursday 15 October at the Institut Lumière, with the screening at 11:30 of the documentary about La Dolce Vita by Serge July and Antoine de Gaudemar, followed by drinks at 12:30.
