
Fly me to the moon
The cinema has always had a fascination with the moon and probably hundreds of films have been made about travelling there. Steve Biodrowski, on cinefantastiqueonline.com, talks about some of them.
Most people think immediately of A Trip to the Moon (Georges Meliès, 1902) or 2001, A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick, 1968) or more recently Space Cowboys (Clint Eastwood, 2000). But who remembers From the Earth to the Moon (1958), based on Jules Verne and starring Joseph Cotten, George Sanders and Debra Paget, or Fritz Lang’s Woman in the Moon (1929)?
