A festival throughout Greater Lyon
The Festival aims to be a huge celebration, gathering a wide range of people who work all year to encourage films and filmgoing, providing a week-long update on the history of cinema and sharing and spreading its universal heritage.
All the area’s cinemas will be taking part – downtown art-houses, community and municipally-backed cinemas, multiplexes and other places for film-lovers. All film fans will be welcome -- from the Presqu'île (Peninsula) de Lyon and the Cité Internationale, from La Duchère and Monplaisir, Meyzieu and Charbonnières-les-Bains, Pierre-Bénite and Neuville-sur-Saône, Saint-Priest and Vénissieux. This will make 35 cinemas with a total of more than 8,000 seats.

The Festival will also be held in theatres, museums and cultural centres, with related cine-concerts, exhibitions and meetings. The cultural bodies and institutions that enliven Great Lyon will all be involved, with a focus on a daily village in the gardens of the Lumière Institute where you can relax between films and a night village on a barge (La Plateforme) moored on the Rhône river where you can have a drink in a friendly setting after the screenings and events.
